Formatting a CD-RW Disc – Error Messages
I use Windows 10 and XPS8920. I tried reformatting 3 CD-RW discs and got error messages. I tried a 4th disc and it did reformat using Quick Format.
Could I have defective discs?

RW discs should be avoided. It sounds good and used like old floppy discs. But, RW discs have a history of losing format and/or data. If this is what you want to do, use them to write, erase, rewrite like an old floppy disc then use a USB flash drive. They are inexpensive and hold much more data (and are faster).
If you still want to use them, do not have your "only copy" or "only backup copy" on an RW disc. Only use CD-R's.
