Multiple error messages hours after disconnecting iPhone
In Settings, Devices, if I select iPhone, remove device, there may be 20-25 error messages. So I remove the USB plug connecting the iPhone to the desktop and then disconnect the iPhone from the USB cord. No error messages! But the next day 5 or more error messages will appear.
The phone is not on Network Connections. What program on the Dell thinks my iPhone 7 has been disconnected hours previously? Why doesn't it respond immediately?

I don't have any answers probably, as I connect my iPhone via Dell Mobile Connect (which might be ending is release/support). That uses Bluetooth to connect.
Since you use USB, on the hidden Systray on the right (the 'upside down v' to see it) is the Safely Remove H/W icon. I would think if you opened that up, you would see the iPhone and could click on that and then disconnect the iPhone and all processes for it?

I think I found a way to avoid this. A few times I pulled the cord from the phone while the screen saver was on and got no errors. I wanted to disconnect now so set screen saver to 1 min., waited, disconnected, no ERRORS! One click to turn screen saver off sure beats 60 to close error messages!

Why are you physically connecting your iPhone to the Windows computer?
Now-days, any communication or syncing is handled over WiFi via iCloud for Windows. Get version 14.x from Microsoft App Store.
The old-way of physically connecting your iPhone to Windows was traditionally facilitated by iTunes for Windows (but I think that is being depreciated). Anyway, IIRC ... there was a proper "Eject iPhone" feature in iTunes.

There is no Wi-Fi for miles. I have DirecTV and satellite internet here in the boonies. Even if there were WiFi I suspect it might take a very long time for the transfer. I have an iPhone7 with Verizon and there is not always a good connection, so I rarely get on the web from my phone here, only when I'm elsewhere and the signal is better.
