Secure Boot Certificate on XPS8930

I see that there is already some discussion here about the warning from Windows on XPS8930 computers regarding Secure Boot certificates. The solutions provided focus on BIOS updates, to either 1.1.28 or 1.1.30. I am already running 1.1.31, 11/21/23, but I am still getting the warning "Secure Boot is on, but your device does not support the automated SB certificate update . . ." I am not experiencing any problems with my machine. Do I need to be concerned with this? Is there another solution I am not seeing?

Okay, this is helpful, but how do I find out which "type" BIOS I have, 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5? I know the version, but I have never heard of a BIOS type (except Legacy v. UEFI) before. How do I determine what mine is? Thanks!

Hi

Dunno.

There are Dell classifications of BR1, BR2 and BR3,but as to it's relevance?  The types 1 - 5 appear to be current and historical methods, definitely different to the BR rating.

The earlier solutions you sent me (the ones that required I know what type BIOS I have--I figured out what that meant) didn't work because they were not written for my BIOS version. The ones directly above are for 1.1.31, which is mine, but I am stuck for two reasons: 1. The first thing it tells me to do is to "follow the steps on page 3, dated May 30 to generate a report . . ." I don't see any post dated May 30 in that thread that includes instructions for generating any report. Is there a poster name or time stamp I should be looking for? 2. In Step 1 of the instructions that follow, there is a screen shot of a program I don't recognize. It's not a BIOS menu, nor is it from the Registry Editor. I have no idea how to even get to Step 1.

Sorry if I'm being an <keyword removed to allow post -Dell Admin>, but I did computer support for 26 years and I NEVER encountered anything like this. And Dell is not being helpful AT ALL. Thanks for any further assistance.

@tigerdg Start by creating a report using the scripts described at ‎XPS 8930, purchased 2018, 2023 Secure Boot Certificates | DELL Technologies and post your report on the other thread which is more active.

You will need to download those scripts in the first place, and later on you will need to download a key.
