Upgrade computer, but keep hard drive
I have an optiplex 3050 with a 500gb ssd drive. I want to replace the 3050, but my hard drive in the new box. Is this possible, or is there something that ties that hard drive to that computer?

The drive can be reused. One issue is Windows. If it has the OEM Dell Windows installed, legally that copy is only licensed for the PC it was delivered with.

I used the Dell OS restore to install Win 10 on the new drive (the one I want to keep). I just don't see see a need for a new drive. Plus I dislike the hassle of re-installing apps, and data, and cloud accounts, etc. Thought this might be an acceptable alternate option.
