XPS 720, two graphics card

Question

There are 3 pci slots for graphics cards on the motherboard.

I have 2gtx 560 cards in the 2 slots nearest the cpu. The lower card is running about 10 deg C hotter due to there being a small gap between the cards.

Will moving the card from the middle slot, labelled primary GFX, to lowest slot work?

. The slots used are labelled as primary and secondary gfx, the manual states two slots are x16, the other is x8, so I suspect it won't work.

I haven't tried it as to get the card into the lowest slot requires the tabs for the card support bracket to be bent down.

1. So be it.

Because of #2 and #3, I would not mess with it.

This machine is very old (tired and fragile). I would not mess with it like that. Just be happy it still works 100%.
