There are no extra connections for fans.

Find a place to mount this and then use a spare sata power connection.

Also keep in mind that Dell does not wire fan headers as standard.

Why don't you do like I did, it completely knocked out my fan noise problem and it's quiet.

I was installing a front fan on the XPS 8910 and the service manual told me to pry off the optical drive bay to remove the front panel. When I was done trying to place the ODD (optical disk drive) back it won’t stick. It falls every time.

I have an XPS 8910 and after I was installing 2 120mm fans, cpu cooler and plugged the cables I go to turn the computer on and when I plugged the Power cable. There was no green light turning on. I thought it was the cable that was defected so I got a new one. Used it and it also didn’t do anything. Yesterday it was working fine, i don’t know what’s the problem.

Go back and doublecheck all the cabling.  Rewiring/modifying you could have accidentally disconnected something.

It still sounds like a connector is not fully seated.  Reseat the 24 pin power connector, CPU power connector and the front panel connector.

As a side note, on most Dell's, when non-Dell fans are used you will get a fan failure notice from the POST (Power On Self Test).  You aren't that far yet as the problem has to be resolved but something to be aware of.

I pressed the dell power supply test button and it went green the whole time I pressed it. I double checked everything. All I did was install a thermaltake heat sink and two 120mm thermaltake riing fans.

I would do what fireberd suggested and check your connections to the motherboard. The power supply requires a signal from the motherboard which requires a signal from the power switch to turn on. If the power supply does not turn on either the power supply is not getting the signal from the motherboard or the motherboard is not getting the signal from the power switch.I would also especially look at the new fan header connections to the motherboard.

My Arctic PWM fan works fine and tied in with the top fan.

Dell uses standard fans wired to self destruct if you put them on a standard header and the other way round for standard fan on Dell header also self destruct.

Dell does not use standard wiring or Pin outs on their fan headers.  Pay attention to the wire colors and what pins they go to.

For 3 wire they reverse 12v and tach.

This can lead to self destruction for a dell fan on standard motherboard or the other way round.
