XPS 8920, BIOS 1.0.18, will not install
Hi,
I have an Dell XPS 8920. I am being prompted by Dell Update to update my bios to 1.0.18. I currently have installed v 1.0.17 . I let Dell download and install the bios with no interruptions, restart the machine and the update has not been performed. I believe I've attempted to update the bios 2 times.
Why is the bios not updating?

Don't force it to install since you could brick your computer. You either don't need the update or you already have it. Dell Update is not always right. Neither is Dell Support Assist. Always question whether the suggestion is right for you. Visit Dell Downloads to check the details of any update. Details for that bios update say this--
Fixed the issue where the BIOS update does not execute successfully using Dell Update Application version 3.0.0.
You probably don't need it.

Thank you for your message. Does the BIOS version match in the BIOS screen & in the OS?
Open Dell Support Assist & check the BIOS version that shows up.
What is the Version of Dell update application installed on your computer?
For my reference, please click on the message tab next to your avatar– click “New Message” & search for my Dell username (Sreejith R) & send a private message with the service tag, registered name & email address.
