I have exactly the same problem of upload limited to 1-2 Mbps on my XPS8930 with Killer E2400, although I did not have any problem in installing the updates

I hope DELL will fix this soon

If you have Killer Intelligence Center, open it and turn off Prioritization Engine and Auto Bandwidth in the Dashboard tab. That solved the same problem for me. I also disabled any processes and services associated with Killer Intelligence Center.

Same issue (use Comcast gig internet).  My 8930 with ethernet connection, E2400 Killer apps, at some point in Jan/Feb upload speed dropped from around 40Mbps to 1 - 2Mbps (upload also slowed from low 900s to mid 800s).  Went through all the steps - disabled the Killer app and upload speed returned.  I did want to use Killer, so did a full uninstall then a clean, full, install.  Checked speeds, but same issue.  Right now, solution is to remove everything associated with the Killer suite until I can find a GOOD solution.

@ThreeAces  - All you really need is the Killer (Intel) Ethernet driver, v9.0.0.50.

Do you ever actually use the Killer control panel?  Do you want their analytics service collecting data on your PC and potentially sharing it who knows where, or their other processes deciding how much internet bandwidth the XPS 8930 gets, etc?

Thank you, Ron, but when I check the current driver details, I do have 9.0.0.50 currently installed.  It shows Provider of Qualcomm Atheros, Inc., and copyright 2015 Rivet Networks.  And I agree with part 2 of your response - I don't want (another) third party accessing my data - they might have it already but no sense making it too easy.  I didn't even know what the Killer app did until I ran into this issue, so it's currently disabled and will stay that way!

@ThreeAces - Killer Ethernet driver v9.0.0.50 has been around since ~2019 and is the latest one. None of the recent Killer updates have updated the driver.

Did you disable all Killer (and xTend, if listed) services in Start>Run>services.msc? You don't need any of them running. Then just reboot PC.

Thanks, Ron.  That is exactly where I'm at - Killer Analytics Service, Killer Dynamic Bandwidth Management, Killer Network Service, and Killer Smart AP Selection Service have all been reset to "Manual" in services.  The xTend is not listed.  The driver in Device Manager shows 9.0.0.50, date of 1/14/2020.  All is working as expected - speed back where it was, and nothing appears to not be working.  Thanks for your help!

I suspect @Roho will respond again later.  Have you disabled Killer Intelligence Center in Task Manager Startup?

Thanks for the note, mfurr.  Yes, I did disable via Task Manager.  Since I no longer want to use the Killer app, I'm all set with this issue.  What is sad is both Dell and Intel released this driver without adequate testing!  Seems they prefer to rely on this forum to perform the testing WE pay them to do (by purchasing their stuff)!  Unfortunate, but I guess that's the "new normal"!

Replying to share that I'm also experiencing this. Glad I found this thread before I fully reinstalled Windows. When connected to a VPN I get my normal 40-50mb/s upload speed, using an unmodified connection thru Killer Ethernet I only get 0.5-1.5mb/s.

Just updating that installing the latest Killer PCIe Ethernet Controller Driver from Dell's support page appears to have fixed my issue.

@egar253  - Dell's Killer update may have solved the problem for you, but keep in mind that Windows Update can/will force-install Killer updates (disguised as Intel updates), without warning, permission, or even knowing you already have a newer/better version installed. So don't be surprised if the problem reappears.

If you have a Pro version of Win 10, you can use the group policy editor to prevent Windows Update from installing all new driver updates. If you have Windows Home, there's a registry mod that can do this, but you edit the registry entirely at your own risk.

Either way: you may miss out on important updates that aren't easily available elsewhere for manual installation, eg from Dell's support site.

Thanx all, I had the same problem (allmost zero upload since beginnig 2023, woraround with WiFi). First I tried the most actual drivers from Dell, non change. So I disabled all Killer services via task manager (Killer Analytics Service, Killer Dynamic Bandwidth Management and Killer Network Service), reboot and it worked!

I used the software uninstaller posted in this thread  https://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/killer_software_uninstaller.html   and it worked perfectly and restored my upload speeds… BUT the Killer stuff eventually keeps coming back and ruins my upload speed again and again. For now, I just run the tool every time it happens but I would sure like a more permanent solution.

@musicmafia - You could use the Group Policy Editor (gpedit) if you have a Pro version of Windows, or a registry hack, if you have a Home version to tell Windows Update not to install driver updates, which would solve the problem caused by Killer updates.

But, it's all or none. You can't selectively pick which driver updates you want installed and which ones you don't want.

Otherwise, we just have to play whack-a-mole with Killer software and the 4 Killer services listed in Windows services.msc.
