XPS 8940, Fast Boot BIOS settings
Just got a my new 8940 SE. Running duel boot windows 10 and Linux Mint on separate drives.
BIOS Fast Boot settings have 3 options. Which setting should I use?
1. minimal
2. through
3. auto
Thanks for any help.

This is what the Service Manual has for that setting:
============
Fastboot Enable to set the speed of the boot process.
Default: Thorough
===========
The XPS is probably fast enough that you can take the default (I do).
I'd say that most of the times it will not find a problem though. However, if you were to use either of the other 2 vs. the default, it is possible on a failure it could be missed?
Although not documented, I 'assume' Minimal doesn't run the full set of test on a device, and Auto might run Minimal most of the time unless h/w were changed and then it would run Through. (Just my guess on these).
If it boots fast enough for you, I'd stay with the default.
