XPS 8940, what CPU is compatible?
I have a Dell Inc Motherboard, Model: 0K3CM7 A00
Chipset: Intel Rocket Lake----Southbridge: Intel H470
I understand that my current Intel core i5 11400 is compatible with socket 1200 LGA and I know that I would like to upgrade to a i7-11700 which is also compatible with socket 1200 LGA but I am unsure of the chipset and whether an upgrade of my BIOS will be necessary. If anyone could be of help explaining this it would be much appreciated, I am unable to find this Motherboard anywhere for a compatibility check on Dell websites. It would be nice to know what options I have for CPU upgrades.

@XxDireRavenxX There is a list of compatible processor for the XPS 8940 in the Setup and Specifications. An update of the BIOS may be required, the latest BIOS update states that "Before updating the processor to the 11th generation Intel processor, you must update the BIOS to the latest version". Since your current porcessor is already 11th gen I am not sure a BIOS update is necessary.
