Bluetooth only works at very close range

I have an XPS 13 and I can only connect my bluetooth earbuds at very close range - about an inch or two. If I put them in my ears while I'm sitting in front of my laptop, they disconnect.

Has anyone else had that issue? How did you fix it?

It's amusing that this problem has been around for so many years!  I just wanted to keep it alive in case any new users find their way here and are confused on how to fix their bluetooth connection.

Click Start Menu

Go to Settings

Go to Devices

Then Device and Printers

Right Click and select "Device Manager"

Your bluetooth should have a little yellow dot, right click it uninstall it

Right Click and "Scan for New Devices"

You should be fixed.

I have the same issue with my XPS 17 9720. When will it be fixed? May it be hardware issue?
