Change both palmrest and keyboard on 9550

Hello,

I have broken part on the palm rest of my XPS 15 9550.

The thing is my palm rest (part no. 9159M) is for the UK keyboard (the one with the taller enter key), which is the keyboard on my pc. It is very hard to get that palm rest (UK keyboard) in the US. However, it is possible for me to get the US palm rest (part no. KYN7Y 0JK1FY JK1FY), the keyboard holes on this palm rest are different.

If I also change the keyboard for the US keyboard like (part no. 0GDT9F 0VC22N), which has the wider Enter key and corresponds to that palm rest. Will this new palm rest and keyboard work with the rest of the hardware in my computer? Will the new touch pad work? Will the display assembly fit correctly?

Both of these things are made for the XPS 9550, I am changing just the palm rest and keyboard.

Hi,

Yes if you change both the keyboard and the palmrest you will be fine.

But if you are looking for a palmrest for a keyboard layout with the big Enter key (which I think it's the same used in Europe), give a look at this one, from a webstore that is always suggest by the forum's experts. Does it have the same serial number of the one you need to replace? You can always ask the store for more information.

Thanks for the quick reply.

I'm not sure the part you mentioned (part no. D6CWH) will fit my keyboard. The palmrest part no. is 9159M, which is different. Anyways, on that site that item is out of stock. As I said, it is very hard to get.

I will buy both a new keyboard and

palmrest (US) Palmrest . On ebay, I have made links.
