Experiencing electric shocks from your laptop while charging is not normal and could indicate a potential safety issue. Here are some steps you can take to address the problem:
Safety First:
Check the Charger and Power Outlet:
Inspect the Power Cable:
Grounding:
Humidity Levels:
Anti-Static Measures:
Contact Manufacturer Support:
Professional Inspection:
Remember that experiencing electric shocks from electronic devices is not normal and should be addressed promptly to prevent potential harm or damage. Safety is paramount, so if you are unsure about how to handle the situation, seek professional assistance or contact the laptop manufacturer's support for guidance. Do not continue using the laptop if you are experiencing electric shocks.

A non-AI generated, more specific answer.
Try a different electrical outlet (and connect directly to the wall rather than through a power strip), preferably in a different building. If the issue disappears, you likely have a grounding issue with whatever electrical outlet showed the problem, meaning you should contact a qualified electrician to have the outlet checked.
If the issue does occur elsewhere, the next suspect is a poorly grounded AC adapter. Try another OEM Dell AC adapter.
If neither solves the problem, the system needs an internal repair -- could be a DC jack problem, or it could be a problem with the mainboard contacting the chassis where it should not be.

I think grounding issues are here the culprit. I have seen the same issues and ejn63 above has the right path to solving it.

To receive assistance from Dell chat Technical support, they need to first verify the warranty status. Click the "Get Help Now" icon on the right to start a live chat session. Provide to them the private XPS Service Tag.
