Dell XPS 13 (9370) Battery Problems
My Dell XPS 13 (9370) is only 2.5 years old and the battery is already failing. This even though I only occasionally use the computer unplugged. Dell stated that the battery is not covered on the extended three-year warranty that I purchased. In checking in the community, many others are experiencing the same problem.
I have been using Dell laptops for over 15 yrs and never had a problem like this. There seems to be a defect with this battery. Dell, will you please comment on why this is happening to so many customers and what will you do to make things right?

In years past, batteries were larger and less stressed than they are in ultralight systems like this one. 300-500 charge cycles or 18-24 months is about as good as it gets with ultralights -- so it's not unexpected to need a new battery after 2.5 years.
Pretty much the same thing is happening with other products - car batteries would once last for many years. Now with stop-start and high drain electronics, you're lucky to get 2-3 years out of one.

Yup - the same is happening to me. Dell says the battery only has a 1 year warranty even though I am on premium support.
the battery has deteriorated badly. And when I leave it turned off and unplugged, it is losing charge at a rapid pace. I’ve never faced this with ThinkPad and Apple.
Extremely disappointed with Dell.

Yesterday 4 hours of power, today the battery is dead.
I had many problems with m3800 also (3 thousands euros). My XPS is the last DELL that my group has bought. I spent more time in fixing DELLs that on workings with it

My 9370 is 22 months old. With half screen brightness, I'm lucky to get 2.5 hours of use from a fully charged battery. Not impressed. Costco Canada and Visa both provide an extension of Factory Warranty to two years. Will be taking advantage of either one of those shortly...rather than try to deal with Dell directly.

I have the same problem with my XPS 9370. The battery lasts about a minute without the power cable and it's only 2 years old! If this really is built-in obsolescence on these batteries then Dell should at least streamline their replacement. As it stands they don't even sell replacement batteries! I'm VERY disappointed!
