Dell XPS 15 (9500) Lid Problem

Hi,

I just today received my new Dell XPS 15 (9500) upgraded model and have noticed that if the laptop is even slightly tilted back at all the laptop opens up about 1/2". Almost as if nothing is keeping the laptop closed once the lid is shut. This is very frustrating because I just spent almost $3000 on a laptop and was wondering if anyone else has experience a similar problem and how should I go about getting it fixed or if I even can.  Photo of Gap when tilted backPhoto of Gap when tilted back

Hi @GLike , I have the same problem -> https://www.dell.com/community/XPS/Dell-XPS-15-9500-Lid-is-not-tight-close-when-keeping-notebook/m-p/7659158#M66672

Is that a problem that needs to be fixed or by design?

Hello All, Yes I am having the same issue. When I pick up my nearly $3000 unit the lid opens up just a bit, but enough as to allow debris to fall into the area between the keyboard and screen and damage either or. This is really annoying and unacceptable and I hope there is a simple fix without having to wait three weeks. Anyone have this issue resolved satisfactorily?

Well, I have the opposite problem.  The lid on my XPS 15 9500 closes so tightly that it takes a 2-hand good effort to open the laptop. Is this happening to recently delivered units?  I would appreciate any suggestion that would overcome this difficulty.
