Dell XPS 15 9500 Ram Upgrade
Hey,
I just ordered the XPS 15 9500 with 8GB ram with the idea to upgrade to 32GB once it arrives.
Right now I can't decide between those two options:
Crucial 32GB Kit (2 x 16GB) DDR4-3200 SODIMM
HyperX IMPACT 32GB 2933MHz (kit of 2)
I'll appreciate all kind of advices and opinions on which one is better and if both of them are compatible with the XPS 15.

Crucial is the best choice. It specializes in Dell ram upgrades. See page 11 of the Manual for the ram configurations. There is no provision for Hyper X listed.
Don't order anything until after your new laptop comes and you check it out completely. It is not a good idea to add parts to a new computer.

I have the exact same laptop also with 8gb of memory. I want to upgrade the memory to. What's wrong with upgrading it right away rather than waiting a while?

For those who are considering memory upgrade.
Today I've installed into my Dell XPS 15 9500 i7 10750H two modules of HyperX Impact 16GB DDR4 SODIMM PC4-23400 HX429S17IB2/16 and can confirm that they work with a desired clock (>2900) and timings. I think they mean that you want to make sure nothing is defective or damaged in shipping before you upgrade. If you check that it's working first and issues arise, you'll know that the mishap must have occurred during the upgrade.
