Dell XPS 15 9560 overheating when gaming
Hello, whenever I try to play any videogames on my XPS 15 I eventually need to plug in my charger and when I do so the computer starts overheating like crazy and I get massive FPS drops... frustrating since this was supposed to be Dell's highest performance laptop...

Given that the system is a few years old, if it's never been internally cleaned, that's overdue. Additionally, since heatsink compound dries out over time, it's also a good time to replace the thermal compound that sits between the heat slug on the CPU and GPU and the heatsink.

Hey, thanks a lot for the tips! How do I go about cleaning the interior? What should I use to do so? Also, to replace the thermal compound you mention, how is that done and what do I need?
Thanks again and all the best!
