Dell XPS 9300 wireless display connection

Hi there,

Have a similar issue to those that some other users have reported regarding connecting to a wireless display, but haven't come accross a solution to my specific issue on my laptop.

I have a brand new (well nearly, it's 2 months old) XPS 13 9300. It's fully specced up (Intel 10th Gen Core i7, 16GB Ram, QHD Touchscreen display etc.). But when trying to connect to my Samsung Series 7 Smart TV, I get a frozen Windows background screen on the TV (albeit very strangely with a moving mouse cursor).

When I launch any apps or programs they appear and work normally on my laptop screen, but alas my TV still displays the frozen Windows background screen. My partner has a Surface Pro and this doesn't have any issues connecting to the same TV.

Did anybody else ever report/solve this issue? Many thanks.

Hello @AGDellXPS & @DELL-Cares

after 24 hour of troubleshooting I've found the solutions

1. Download & Install Intel® Driver & Support Assistant to your XPS 9300

2. update the Intel® Iris® Plus Graphics & Intel® Wireless Bluetooth® (Dell's 9300 driver has some issue with the miracast)

3. Restart Your XPS 9300

4. It will be cast the wireless display on your TV

Hope its help

Thanks @capiderman .

I actually had ended up contacting Dell Support on this. They remoted to my PC and did pretty much the same steps that you mentioned, only they also updated my BIOS first (for anybody else out there facing the same issue).

It seemed as well that Dell Support Assist had malfunctioned on my 9300 and was not automatically pushing updates to my PC, which was why all the drivers and BIOS were so out of date.

Glad you got there in the end.
