Dell XPS 9370 eGPU compatibility

I've recently connected an eGPU to my 9370.

eGPU housing - Razer Core X

eGPU - GTX 1660 SUPER OC

It works for about an hour before the laptop either crashes or the thunderbolt connection disconnects. I have tried in both ports. Each time I connect the eGPU the thunderbolt software it states - "The connected external graphics device may not function properly with this computer"

Is this a generic message for all Dell XPS 13 9370? I would have thought any Thunderbolt 3 windowns device was compatible with an eGPU.

I also checked core temperatures and none of them were alarming.

If anyone has any experience getting an eGPU to work with some sort of stability I would love to know what you have done

And yes all my drivers inc BIOS, GPU and thunderbolt are up to date.
