Dell xps 9510 sometimes tap for click doesn't work

Hi,
Recently I've this strange problem with my trackpad (Dell xps 9510 windows 11). Sometimes after using for a while in a programs like Chrome or Microsoft Word, the tap for click doesn't work in the left part of my trackpad. I can move the cursor correctly (in the same part) but I can't tap to click! To make "the tap" work again I've to physical click (in the left part) or tap in the right part of the trackpad or move the cursor to windows bar at the bottom of the screen. What can I do? I think that is a driver problem because the trackpad is not faulty and i didn't have this problem a week ago .
I 've update ELAN drive but problem persists.

Thanks

I ran into the same issue 3 days after I purchase my Dell 9510 FDH+ 15". There is much to love about this machine like the screen, speakers, and keyboard. But I also experienced some quality issues. For example ...

  • The machine would stay warm when charged overnight or in a backpack.
  • Closing the LID did not stop the fans. I ended up configuring its behavior to hibernate.
  • Driver update conflicts: Dell's Update app installed BIOS and driver updates. Next day, Windows update pushed 'Dell firmware' which kept failing for days.
  • The final straw when the trackpad stopped responding to a single finger tab. That was it, back it goes to where it came from: Best Buy.

I probably spent 3 days troubleshooting and googling solutions to this machine's problems. This is not why we purchase computers.

But I believe the trackpad issue showed up after Windows update pushed 'Dell firmware 1.8.x'.
