Dell XPS 9530 Power Issue

Hi All

For years my XPS has gave me no problem however i am pulling my hair out with a power issue

Last month my laptop would not turn on without being connected to the wall adapter so as it was a few years old i replaced the battery and power port on the board . After fitting these my laptop started working on battery power alone however only for 10 mins , the battery goes from 100% to 10% in minutes however when i plug in the power adapter in its back at 100% IN 5-10 mins

I have updated the bios and removed the battery holding the power button for 30 secs

Any help would be appreciated

The battery is faulty.  Contact your supplier to have it replaced.

Welcome to the Dell Community @Jambo2020

The battery in question, is it a Dell OEM or third party battery???

If it is a third party battery you may want to just return it for refund.

OEM's are usually more expensive but can be worth the extra money.

Hi

Thanks for your reply

Its a third party battery however when i look at it through power command its recognised as a dell battery , i was thinking about returning the battery however the t&cs state that the batteries will be tested before any refund is given , if battery is found to be OK the battery will be returned to me
