Dell XPS 9570 Touchpad Issues?

Hello everyone, looking to see if anybody else has had touchpad issues with their XPS 9570. My touchpad seems either really smooth at times and then other times it stutters or doesn't recognize the touch/click and have to try again after a half a second or so. Any ideas or should I get me a new replacement?

    Hey Luke,

Its not just you. I've also had touchpad issues. It is very frustrating when trying to work. It will stop recognizing clicks and stutters over to random places on the screen and will also click things on it's own (both left and right click). There are a bunch of other threads about this. Waiting to hear back from Dell with more than the "clean your trackpad", "upgrade your BIOS", and "reinstall trackpad driver".... None of those solutions have worked. Pretty disappointing with a laptop in the $2k range. Hope you find an actual solution, keep us posted!

I noticed when using the dell touch-pad that it primarily tweaked out when I used multi-finger gestures. Through the control panel I disabled both 3 and 4 finger gestures and disabled the pinch zoom ability. I also disabled any touch-pad shortcut that would trigger something like windows search. At the moment track-pad is holding steady and it hasn't glitched out since I made the above changes. Give it a try I really love this laptop and I really don't want to have to turn it just because of the touch-pad.

@HQ216493 this seems to have fixed my issue when using dragging to select. Thank you for solving a headache, you saved me buying a brand new laptop as I don't have the time to take it for repair 🫂
