Generic Battery Problems
Has anyone here bought a new generic battery for their Dell XPS 15 and to find out that it didn't work or not compatible, this happened to me lately, bought a brand-new compatible battery for my XPS 15, fitted it, and and soon to find out it wasn't compatible. Although the laptop did boot up, the led light in the front started to blink amber/white, battery would not charge. So I went into the BIOS, battery, and there was a red warning saying this battery is not compatible with my laptop, may overheat or explode etc, with some red warning sign. Is there a work around, around this.

* There is not a work around for non-compatible battery
* Power off, disconnect the AC power adapter, remove that non-compatible battery
* Before our users can assist in finding a compatible battery, they need to know which specific XPS 15 model?

@DELL-ChrisM2 Yes mine is the Dell XPS 15 9550 series, I cant understand is why do companies sell these generic laptop batteries when they know they are not going to work or probably some might and its just the luck of the draw.
I now found this website that do sell genuine Dell compatible batteries here in Australia, although they dont have the DELL branding on them, but at the end of the day Dell don't manufacture their ownr laptop batteries anyhow.
