Headphone plug not working as expected

Recently, my 3.5mm aux port on my XPS 9360 hasn't been working properly. Plugging in an audio device does absolutely nothing. If the device is plugged in before boot up it works. Clearly this isn't a very convenient workaround because I don't want to have to restart my computer just to plug in headphones. I'm on OS build 17134.81 and I've tried updating drivers. It's not the headphones, I tested multiple with my laptop then separately with my phone and my laptop never seems to be able to play music on them without booting up with them plugged in.

Calvin3128,

Right click on the volume control on the taskbar and choose Playback Devices. Choose the Headphones and then select to Set as Default. Apply the settings.
