Hid touchscreen and 12c2 drivers are missing

After updating to Win11 on my XPS 13 7390 my touchscreen no longer works. Windows fails to install it. I have tried everything and can't solve

Try the steps below to see if they will resolve the issue.

  1. Disable and re-enable "HID-compliant Touchscreen" in Windows Device manager (if your touch-screen is currently unresponsive).

  2. Go to Windows Search bar and look for "Calibrate the screen for pen or touch input".

  3. Select "Setup.." and touch the screen.

  4. Select "Calibrate..." and touch the corners of the screen as instructed.

  5. As an extra , go to Device Manager and search for Human Input Devices->USB Devices (all instances)->Properties->Power Management->Uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power"

  6. get into BIOS (F2) check if touchscreen is enabled, if not enable it ,if it's already enabled turn it off and on again and select apply( or save changes)

To receive assistance from Dell chat support, they need to verify the warranty status and ownership. Then you must troubleshoot with them.  Click the "Get Help Now" icon on the right to start a live chat session. If already out of warranty, click here for the Dell out of warranty offering.

My warranty is out so I have no service left, but I did order it through Dell and it is listed in my past purchases. The hardware is not the issue and I still like the laptop so I really want the touch to work.

I really was just hoping that someone else has had the same issue and knew how to solve it.

I have been able to get it going but it is a stupid amount of work to go in and manually update not two but like five drivers. I have to redo anytime my system goes to sleep, so far I can't find the reason.

I am now scared to do the Win11 update that is what caused it so I am waiting to find the solution or hope someone will.
