high memory usage due to chrome, spotify, whatsapp desktop
Hii, I have an XPS 13 9380, and I see that my laptop is usually on high memory usage usually over 60%, eventhough I am almost doing nothing on my laptop. when I look on the task manager, I see that each task has a number of small tasks that are using memory, no idea why. for example I open spotify, and then Task Manager shows 5 different tasks, chrome i am using 1 tab, but it shows 9 different tasks.
can anyone help me with this?

Using a lot of tabs and browser windows the way you do is going to use a lot of ram – depending on what is going on in them. So if possible you could always bump up your machine's ram, it will make a noticeable improvement. Some machines have soldered ram, so you may not be able to... Others here should be able to comment your ability to upgrade the Asus.
If you can't upgrade and do look at buying new, there are a lot of options on the table so you should start with a budget.

McAfee anti-virus also causes high Memory and CPU on newer computers with windows 10. Chrome is a very good browser but some of the add-ons are causing a lot of high memory / CPU as well.

Some machines have soldered ram, so you may not be able to.

AdrianG001 hits it on the nail. It appears the memory modules are integrated on the system board. If the memory modules are malfunctioning and need to be replaced, a replacement of the system board is necessary.

my question is:
If I open one tab only, why on task manager i see 9 different tasks? it shows "Google Chrome (9)"

You should consider disabling some of Chrome add-ons (or extensions)

Chrome is known to be a RAM Eater, this behavior is improving though. As Chromium based Edge is improving day by day, Chrome is also ensuring that with every new release there browser improves too. .
Run Chrome Single Tab in Incognito mode : Do you see the same Behavior ? If no than Addons are causing the issues ? Open chrome://extensions/ Remove the ones you don't use.
Also install the latest updates for Chrome from . chrome://settings/help
In Settings (3 dots) > More tools Task manager : See which apps and extensions are running with Chrome.
In Windows settings > System > notifications > Turn following Off.

Run a complete scan of MalwarBytes
Last option uninstall Chrome (backup bookmarks if you are not using Google account_)
Deleted Programdata/google, Appdata/Local/Google
Reinstall Chrome.
