How To Add A Display Resolution Setting
Thank you for reading. I have a Dell Premium with an Intel 285 and Nvidia 5060...last year's version was branded XPS:-)
Regardless, I am trying to use it with an LG curved monitor that has 5120x2160 resolution. The problem is that resolution is not in the drop-down listbox on Windows Display Settings. I tried to add via Nvidia's and Intel's apps, but there was no ability to do so. Can I add it in another way?
Thank you for any guidance!

The problem is the Intel GPU, which does not support that resolution.
Unless the system has a provision for supporting direct video out (from the nVidia GPU), which I suspect it does not, this will be a no-go with that notebook.
If there is a direct video option, there will be a setup (F2 at powerup) option to disable nVidia Optimus in favor of hardware-switched GPU. And this being a descendant of the XPS line, it likely won't -- only a couple of the 17" XPS models with the highest-line GPUs x080 and x090 -- had the option.

@ejn63 Thank you VERY much for answering! I will be traveling for the holidays, but will try the F2 path later this week. If you see this, one quick question--I guess having the Nvidia 5060 is nice, but the computer is still limited by the Intel GPU...they work together vs. Intel or Nvidia? As you can see, my technical knowledge is, uh, limited. Again, appreciate your help!

This system is supposed to have hardware switchable graphics, so you can disable the Intel GPU and run the nVidia GPU separately. That should solve the issue -- of course at the cost of much shorter battery runtimes (the nVidia GPU is the most power-intensive component in the system, which is mostly a concern when off AC power).

Sounds frustrating! Even with a strong setup like your Dell Premium (Intel 285 + Nvidia 5060), Windows sometimes won’t show ultra-wide resolutions like 5120x2160 by default. If Nvidia and Intel apps won’t let you add it, try creating a custom resolution using CRU (Custom Resolution Utility). It’s a small tool that often unlocks resolutions Windows hides. After adding it and restarting, the 5120x2160 option usually appears. Hope it helps!

Thanks very much to everyone for actionable ideas! They'll give me something to look forward to on Sunday after dealing with family for Thanksgiving:-)
For anyone reading this who has a similar issue, a solution from Dell Tech Support: lower the refresh rate to 30. I would guess that doing so would be a non-issue except for gamers & those with similar high-end video needs?
Thanks again!
