Installing windows 8 on an SSD Dell laptop

Hello. I was gifted a new Dell Vostro laptop and I tried to install Windows 9 on it but after the installation reboots the laptop, there is an error - 0xc0000001.

At one of the screens it showed an "internal memory error". I ran the troubleshooting option from the bootable USB stick but it didn't help. I installed Windows 10 on the same machine but I have problems with installing Windows 8.1 and Windows 7 (for the Windows 7 installation USB stick, the system can't find the correct driver - probably because of the SSD). Windows 8.1 seems to be installed but it says: "Your PC ran into a problem and needs to reboot," something of that sort.

What can I do? I have programs which don't run on Windows 10 (particularly one portable video editing program) and I would be grateful if you tell me how to install Windows 7 or Windows 8.1. If there is a driver to include in the Windows 7 installation media, please, let me know where I can download it from. And for the Windows 8 (I would like to have the three systems on the same laptop, for different purposes), how can i get it to run? I have installed it several times and I get the same issue.

Before choosing a Dell laptop I considered buying an Asus. So please, don't disappoint me.

Windows 7 and 8 support ended with the 6th generation Intel CPUs -- anything newer is Windows 10 only.  Whatever application you're running that won't work under Windows 10 needs to be updated or replaced with one that will - or you will be forever stuck with 2017 and older hardware.

Just about any system built after 2018 will run only Windows 10.  It's impossible to advise you without knowing the exact model  you have (vostro 5501, etc.).

Windows 9 does not exist -- and a Vostro is not an XPS, either.

Really? Oh, sorry to hear this. I thought that including some drivers with my installation USB stick will do the job. In the BIOS I have two SSD drivers enabled but they don't seem to help me much, and the virtual machine thing is not the best option when encoding videos. I mean, do you have some knowledge of the models or are you a part of the Dell tech stuff? Do you say this conclusively? As I have been trying to set it up for two days. If you are sure and there is no way to do so, at least I will know not to try anymore.

This system will not run Windows 7 or Windows 8.  If you need a system to run those OSes, look for a 2017 or earlier, used notebook.

Hello, ejn63. Thank you for replying to me.

The model is:

DELL VOSTRO 3500 N3003VN3500EMEA01

Sorry about the Windows 9 thing, this was a typing error.

If i manage to install either Windows 8 or Windows 7 (best option for the old program), I will be very glad, as the virtual machine I installed on my Windows 10 partition takes too much of my memory.

nooo that's not what 6th generation stands for! i5 is the model of processor, indicating a middle-high level cpu. Your precise model is i5 1135g7, and it's an 11th generation, as you can see from the name.

The laptop has Intel Core i5, so it's below i6, it's fifth generation.

Intel Core I5-1135G7 (8M Cache, 4C, Up To 4.2 Ghz)

thank you for clarifying, you are right. So it's far beyond what is supported for Windows 8. I understand.
