Laptop display stain
XPS 15 9570
I would need some input from the forum.
On my XPS15 9570 a weird red coloration appeared in the middle on the screen. It is visible with the display turned off as well as on. When there is a light color displayed on the screen the stain is not visible but when the screen is dark it is quite disturbing.
On a light background there are other stains visible on the corner of the display as well.
See the attached photos.
Is there anything I can do which not involves replacing the screen? Any help would be appreciated.

Hold the D key through powerup, which will initiate a series of screen self-tests. Do the same faults show there?
No: you may have a GPU issue.
Yes: the display panel (assembly in this case) needs to be replaced; it cannot be repaired.

It is definitely not software issue. The red stain is visible even when the laptop is off.
Quite unfortunate. Without trying to go in to accusations, I have a hunch that this happened because of the extreme heat caused by the sleep problem.
