New and Old XPS swapping SSD
XPS 15 9560
Hello folks
I've got a dilemma. I have a XPS 9560, two years ago I installed a 2TB M.2 on it, and was happily everafter. Now I just got a new XPS 9520 (2022), with a 512GB M.2 ssd.
Now I want to swap the SSD between the 2, because the old one will be y daughter's school laptop, and doesn't need that much storage, I do.
The problem is, the old XPS came with Win10, and the new one, with Win11, I cannot just swap the disk, I need them to keep the corresponding OS as it is.
If I transfer the contents from old disk to new disk, it will be transfering with the OS as well.
What should I do?

Leave the drives as they are. Aside from the storage differences, the new system will have a drive twice as fast as the one in the old system -- no sense hamstringing the performance of the new system with the old drive.
