Performance Modes in BIOS
XPS 15 9530
What technical details are changed between the four power Modes- Optimized, Silent, Cool, and Ultra Performance?
I am curious in making sure none of these exceed the Intel default power limits for my processor, those being PL1 and PL2. This is in regard to recent reporting that 13th and 14th gen Intel systems are running into problems with BIOS motherboard makers having exceeding higher than default limits, by default. This setup causing overheating, crashes, and even system failure for some users of other systems.
Since the Dell BIOS does not show or allow changing of these limits, the question is what limits are imposed by the power modes thay can be selected.

To receive assistance from Dell chat support, they need to verify the warranty status and ownership. Then you must troubleshoot with them. Click the "Get Help Now" icon on the right to start a live chat session. If already out of warranty, click here for the Dell out of warranty offering.

@DELL-Jesse L This is a request for information and clarification of the performance modes within BIOS for the model. Whether that information can be provided by Dell support/engineering or by other users in their testing.
This response is not applicable to the discussion, nor is it applicable to my owned product which is in warranty.

It would be great to get some official word from Dell on the Intel CPU issue. Without the info requested by Thaumasurge, those of us with the effected CPUs are unable to proactively protect our valuable hardware.
