Poor quality webcam
Dell has sent a technician twice as of today, March 6, 2023 to replace the webcam on my XPS 15 9510. Replacing the internal webcam has not solved the problem. The image is distorted and the colors are all washed out and faded. Your Engineering department dropped the ball on this issue. I see hundreds of complaints about this poor quality product. I have 2 other Dell laptops, both of which have decent webcams. If replacing the webcam does not solve the issue, why hasn't Dell offered to provide an external webcam that will work with this laptop? I cannot count how many hours I have spent with both Microsoft techs and Dell techs trying to resolve this issue, as well as reading all the online instructions on how to reset to the defaults, etc. I'm really disappointed in this product and need a better solution than continuing to send a technician who has to use 2 days of his time to come here to change out a part that is not an improvement. What can you do?

Same thing here with my brand new 9520. It looks like there is a protective plastic film over the lens or something that make the image blotchy, and the colors washed out but there is no film to remove on the outside. You can move the laptop and see the blotches are stationary in the image from the webcam. The technician left an hour ago after replacing the screen and webcam unit, and no change. I am as disappointed as I am astonished that Dell would deliver such a part in an otherwise high-quality laptop when webcams are an entirely commoditized technology at this point. Either someone at Dell willfully chose this part (presumably to save 4 cents) or Dell has supply chain issues. Way to devalue a nice laptop... I'll either have to buy an external webcam or return the laptop.
