Check the condition of the battery -- if it's starting to swell, it will put pressure on the system board, which could very well lead to memory issues.
Remove the base cover and carefully check the battery for signs of swelling. If it is swollen, remove and dispose of it immediately -- it is a safety hazard as well as a physical hazard to the system.
If the battery is intact, run a full system diagnostic (F12 at powerup), which will test the RAM.
@ejn63 thank you. occasionally the battery feels hotter than usual, but what would the swelling look like? haven’t really noticed anything physically wrong with it before.
i’ve ran full diagnostics, but with the battery in it freezes. But without the battery the only thing that comes up is that there’s no battery.
The battery should be perfectly flat on both sides. Any swelling will appear as either side showing evidence of puffing up -- exactly as a balloon when you inflate it.
I have a Dell XPS 13 9365 2 in 1 (i7/16gb)laptop and its not booting up. I mean, when i press the power ON button (charger connected) the keyboard light comes on for 2-3 seconds and then nothing. it does not proceeds further. no booting , no dell logo and nothing.
I plugged the charger overnight and still it does not power ON, weather plugged in or Not, it wont boot.
it was working pretty normal a few days back and my daughter started to play some game on it and she installed some games. thereafter, its not powering ON. there was Norton Internet secuirity virus protection already installed on it. still it does not power ON.
any suggestions? what can be wrong and how i can fix it?
@ejn63 thanks for your reply.. I have already tried that too.. Have disconnected main battery and reconnect and replaced bios battery.. Still same issue..
What I noticed was :someone said press power button and simultaneously press 'd' key...
This takes me to screen changing colors (red/green/blue) but thereafter it should reboot... But it does not reboots...
Sadly, I have not been able to start it up yet...
My feeling is that : if somehow I am able to run the bios setup.. It will lead us somewhere.. But it does not shows dell logo and I have no option to press f2 or f10 or f12 to enter bios..

Unplug the system, remove the base cover and disconnect the battery from the mainboard. Hold the power button for 30 sec. Reassemble and try again.
If it still won't power up, note that just about everything inside this system is on the mainboard, which will need to be replaced.
