Touchpad Missing from Device Manager

My drag-and-drop feature randomly stopped working on my Dell XPS 13. I've tried updating Windows 10, downloading drivers, and lots of other suggested fixes. I got stuck when someone suggested finding the touchpad driver in Device Manager, though, because the touchpad is straight up missing. I've tried:

  • Looking under "mice and other pointed devices"
  • Using action => scan for hardware changes
  • View => show hidden devices

No dice. Anyone know how to fix this?

Please expand Mice And Pointed Devices in device manager. At the device manager taskbar, click on Action and select Scan For Hardware Changes. Hopefully you'll be able to see the touchpad driver now. If touchpad driver still doesn't appears, click View (device manager taskbar) and select Show Hidden Devices. Hopefully touchpad driver appears.
