W11 - Advanced battery charging settings

Hello,

one week ago, I upgraded system to Windows 11 on my XPS 9500 and I've found a problem with advanced settings of a battery charging via Dell Power Manager tool in My Dell application. While in the My Dell application under W10 there was a possibility of detailed settings, when I set the charging interval from 50 to 80% for maximum battery life; now in My Dell under W11, there is no option for such settings. (See print screen - card Performance and Power Manager (Správce napájení in CZ) of battery is empty). My laptop is still working based on the setting from W10 (it means charging from 50% to 80% as a maximum), nevertheless, I am not able to change this setting, which is a problem for me, because at a time when I need to use my laptop primarily on battery power (and I can't afford uninterruptible power supply), it's advantageous for me, of course, to charge the battery up to 100%, thus extending its usability by a fifth ...

Do you have the same problem and have you already found any solutions?

Thank you in advance for your response.

Hi!

are you sure you have installed this as well?

Dell Power Manager Service

Otherwise, worst case scenario, you can access the same options and settings from BIOS, under "Power".

Hi!

Yes, 100%, you will be able to find all the settings under "Power", I double checked, I don't have a 9500 but on YouTube I could find a video showing an XPS 9500 BIOS, and it was there, I could see all the different settings, charging thresholds included.

I do remember having a My Dell app in Windows10, but when I upgraded to W11 I didn't bother downloading it, all I have now is Dell Update and Dell Power Manager. And it works... I have a 9310, which is obviously a different model, but I don't know, maybe you could try uninstalling My Dell. It could be worth trying!

Hello,

thanks for your reply. I've already tried to install this driver, however, it is not possible to install successfully as it should be a part of My Dell application (see print screen; this was the same on W10, but this settings could be modified in My Dell app). Nevertheless, My Dell application is not working well on W11.

So I will try again the access to this settings from BIOS. Maybe I was looking out wrong in BIOS, but I have found only tool for battery health report ... and no possibility to adjust min and max level of battery charging.

Thank you for your responses.
