Windows 7 64 bit Iso

Hi,

I have to reinstall a Studio XPS M1640 for a friend, which was natively a vista, and now a windows 7 64 bits.
I have the OEM windows key and Service Tag for this computer if needed.

I tried to go to microsoft to get the iso but it's not working

and tried https://www.dell.com/support/home/fr/fr/frbsdt1/drivers/osiso/win

where I get this message :  " Recovery image currently unavailable."

What should I do ? is it possible to upgrade to windows 10 instead of the "dead" windows 7 ?

Best Regards

Zoltan

Welcome to the Dell Community  @Zoltan4

Microsoft Windows and Office ISO Download Tool:

https://www.heidoc.net/joomla/technology-science/microsoft/67-microsoft-windows-and-office-iso-download-tool

Windows 10 may be possible???

Most likely you will not have graphics drivers but it will run with "Windows Basic" display

For a clean Windows 10 install:

You can make a W10 USB flash drive installer with the Microsoft Media Creation Tool.

Use a blank 8GB or 16GB flash drive.

If your Laptop/Desktop is not working then use another Windows Laptop/Desktop

https://www.microsoft.com/en-ca/software-download/windows10

Here are the steps to create the W10 USB flash drive installer:

Plug in the blank USB flash drive:

CAUTION: Any content on the flash drive will be deleted.

Select “Download Tool Now” and select Run.

If you agree to the license terms, select Accept.

On the “What do you want to do?” “Page”

Select “Create installation media for another PC” then click next.

Select the language, edition, and architecture (64-bit or 32-bit) for Windows 10.

Uncheck the “Use the recommended options for this PC” box then click next.

Select which media you want to use: “USB flash drive”

After creating the USB plug it into the Laptop/Desktop that you want to install it on.

Boot from the USB and follow the directions/instructions.

If asked to enter a product key during the installation process, select "I don't have a product key" option.

Best regards,

U2

Thank you for your answer

The graphic element is not that important on the contrary.
I have downloaded an ISO of windows 10 is it the same ISO that will download the "windows iso downloader" software ?

best
