The same thing just happened to me when I updated all of the drivers via the Dell Update application for my XPS 13 9300. I was stuck in a BSOD loop for some time before I was able to go to a former restore point. Based on what you mentioned about the Realtek drivers, I installed all other drivers except that one and was able to reboot successfully. The Dell drivers website for my service tag lists two different Realtek drivers, I attempted to install the "other one" which was 6.0.8955.1 ... i.e. not the one the Dell Update application was installing. The driver installation first attempted to uninstall the existing driver, which resulted in another BSOD, the error message was regarding a corrupted Intel Audio driver though.. so after a reboot I uninstalled and reinstalled the Intel Audio Driver, and then I reinstalled the Realtek driver and this time everything was successful. I haven't had any issues since. It's pretty upsetting that the Dell Update application cannot be trusted though! Grrr

Hi,

I solved it by creating bootable USB and installing new copy of Windows. Here you can download Win10 copy through MediaCreationTool (official Microsoft tool). When you are stuck in BSOD loop you have to pres F12 multiple times when your screen is displaying DELL logo (before BSOD), Then you have to choose to boot Win10 through your USB not through your SSD.

So I just received my xps 9300 after much delay,  went to the Dell site and just tried to download and install the latest recommend drivers.

I'm also stuck on bsod with stop code: kernel_security_check_failure.

A premium machine stuck in BSOD within hours is inexcusable.

=======================

This is not a required step for a new Dell laptop.

Personally, I would have just started using it normally.

They weren't outdated a few months ago.

I'll take working/stable over new/updated any time.

If you are trying to "make a statement", prove a point, or whatever ... carry on.

If you want the machine to work, maybe try this:

Yeah but I don't want to start using it normally and have outdated drivers on my new laptop for this price and I expect that it will work normally after driver update..not BSOD.

Having the same problem on my new xps 13.  Just got it a week ago from the factory.  Dell, please start testing drivers before releasing them through Support assist!

I have this laptop since March and I have the same issues over and over again, and I had 2 motherboards replacements - and I'm still getting those BSOD !!! DELL this is a complete disgrace!!!

Same problem. Has had me pulling my hair out and carrying out what I feel are unnecessary factory resets.

Happens on both windows versions 1909 and 2004.

This will be my last Dell purchase.

Tried this but got stuck with BSOD again during the Realtek 6.0.8955.1 install

Seemed hopeful

Can you explain better the ideal way to handle the Intel one first?

I'm stuck without any sound or mic, external or internal... great for the Zoom era

Thank you for contacting us, we are trying understand the problem here, if I have understood correctly you currently have issues with the Mic?

Could you please take a picture of the device manager and share it with us for us to review if there are any missing drivers or some conflict which is not allowing you to use the Mic. ^PM

Same issue here. Realtek Audio Driver version 6.0.8991.1, A04 causes BSOD.

Rolling back to version 6.0.8955.1, A03 solves the problem
