XPS 13 9360 - intel chipset driver update

got an XPS 13 9360 running Windows 10 Home.
did a complete wipe and clean re-install (ie not using dell restore).

upon completation of install i installed the dell supportassistant and got it to check what drivers were needed. only 3 were needed, of which 1 was Intel Chipset <ADMIN NOTE: Broken link has been removed from this post by Dell>

it installed and said it was successful. however on going to   and letting it detect what drivers are needed, it keeps saying that this intel chipset driver is required, upon downloading it and installing it (and rebooting), checking again says it's still needed.

so what's going on?

I have the same issue on an XPS 9380. I'm running Windows update and Dell Update tools, and both say I'm all up to date, but when I run Dell SupportAssist (v3.2.1.94) or check drivers via the Dell support website it keeps telling me I need to install the Intel chipset device software driver v10.1.17903.8106. I've now installed the driver update a coup[le of times, but it still comes up as required. @chenks76 - did you get a fix in the end?

no i didn't.

and to be honest i wasn't convinced that the responses from Dell even fully understood the issue.

clearly the dell support website thinks i need an intel chipset driver update, but the dell supportassistant tool (which is a completely annoying piece of bloated software IMO) says i don't. so which one is right? and why, when i then manually download the suggested intel chipset driver update from the site does it apparently do nothing to rectify the problem?

I also this have this issue that i reported here (https://www.dell.com/community/XPS/XPS-13-9360-Windows-10-IRQL-NOT-LESS-OR-EQUAL/m-p/7281371#M27183) and i'm suspecting the two issues are related.

I have the Dell XPS 15 9570 and the same problem. It is not actually a big problem, but it is something that annoys me a lot. Unfortunately, I haven't found a solution yet. Once I did a new, fresh installation of windows and the update didn't show up again. But then I needed another fresh isntall of windows ,because of different problem, and sice then it still shows me the update every time again. What is the device called in device-manager anyway?

what is this obsession what asking to service tags all the time when clearly you can see it's a widespread issue affecting multiple users.

chenks76,

We need the tag to bring up the computer information. It is now the process we have to take as Technicians.

I have the same issue on my DELL XPS 15 9575. Support assist via DELL update web site always shows that Intel Chipset Device Software Driver need to be updated. I downloaded and ran update 10 times and and still says that driver need to be updated.

I've raised multiple posts about this on my 9380. I've tried it so many ways, and I'm convinced it's a software issue. I'm ignoring it, but it really should be removed from Dell Update / Dell SupportAssist / Dell Support Website as it's not functioned properly since April when it was originally released.
