Still having problems with the keyboard. After switching back and forth between BIOS 1.3.3. And 1.4.0 and hours on the phone with tech support, I sent my XPS 13 9370 in to Dell. They sent it back to me with a replaced keyboard, which worked for a day and it is back to being unusable. After spending over an hour on the phone running diagnostics and being on hold, I'm planning to return mine. Too bad because I love the screen and the form.

My XPS 15 9570 i9-8950HK has the same issue and it is very frustrating. Should have gone for mac book pro!

Did you ever resolve this? Your problem as you described it was exactly what was happening to me. Wondering if I should chance getting another XPS 13 9370 or look at something else.

Edit: nvm. I saw that you found your fix. :) thanks for the follow up post!

Checking in here with an XPS 13 9360 (with an 8th-gen i7) with similar issues. Keystrokes seem to be missed in the same cases as OP, when typing quickly. A fix would be appreciated! Glad to see that it's being worked on.

Is there a rough ETA (e.g. Q4 2018, Q1 2019?) for when we can expect these BIOS updates to be released?

Thanks!

Any update on the XPS 15 9570?

I've just bought this notebook, it's lovely but the keyboard skipping bug is driving me crazy (being a software dev I'm needing to use an external keyboard - not ideal!). I'm running BIOS 1.3.1 from August.

Hi Justin,

I am currently experiencing similar issues to those reported in this forum post (and this forum post: https://www.dell.com/community/Laptops-General-Read-Only/Keyboard-issue-with-Dell-Inspiron-13-5000-series/td-p/5171493) with my Dell Insipiron 13 5379. I was on the phone with a Dell support representative for a couple hours yesterday, however the best they could end up suggesting was to mail it in for repair (which I am hesitant to do currently due to school and work, for which I heavily rely). I have seen that you have been quite heavily involved in this post as well as a few others on the topic. Any support or suggestions you may provide would be greatly appreciated! Please let me know if you need any further information from me.

Thanks!

I'm still having this issue. Updated to latest BIOS did not fix it. This thread should NOT be marked as SOLVED. Moderator - please change this asap and update us with a real fix.

I'm very fortunate I uses a BT keyboard most of the time, otherwise I'd have thrown the thing through a window :)

Still experiencing the Keyboard issue on a brand new xps 9370 - with the most recent bios 1.5 installed. A fix or maybe even a workaround would be very much appreciated. Thank you for your support.

I just installed the latest Sept 21 2018 BIOS update and it seems my skipping is gone on the 9365.

Downgrading to BIOS 1.4 seems to have solved the issue for me now.

@DELL-Justin C Why is the Fix not implemented in BIOS 1.5 ?

I can confirm, the XPS 13 9365 2.1.2 BIOS update fixed it for me too.  I've always loved typing on this keyboard, and now it types exactly what I ask it to.

Thanks @DELL-Justin C for following this through to a fix, it's much appreciated.

I think it is not a Window issue, there is a problem with the keyboard, maybe drivers of the keyboard are not installed properly
