XPS 15 2019 vs 2020 models

Hi all, I'm thinking of getting an XPS 15 laptop.  what is the difference between the 2019 and the 2020 models other than CPU?  Is the design different?  trackpad different?   I see some youtube videos where people are saying the XPS is so great, but they are all talking about the 2020 models.  not sure how the 2019 compares.

@jvpix.com  They are very different in specs, design, and ports -- and both of them are still available in the Dell online store, at least in the US, so they're easy to compare.

I know the specs and ports are different, I can compare those myself.  But I want to know things that are not included in specs like is the casing the same material?  Are the hinges the same?  is the 2020 model more durable?  is the cooling the same?  those kind of things.

There are many reviews of the new systems out there on Youtube, etc.  The chassis is completely different, and Dell claims a new heatsink design will improve thermal management.

As for durability, only time and real world experience will tell.  If you're looking for a more durable system, there are Latitudes that are more robustly built - though bulkier and heavier.

@jvpix.com  If you want that level of detail, you'd have to either find reviews from sites like NotebookCheck that tend to go very in-depth, or else find actual owners who are willing to spend time answering questions at that level of detail.  I'm not sure why you're only finding discussions of the 2020 model though.  Perhaps if you search specifically "XPS 15 7590", which is the model code of the 2019 model, you'll find more useful information.  NotebookCheck's review of that system is here.

I have a XPS 15 9575 which I bought in the August/September of 2018...and based upon my almost 30 years experience with Dell...the one I have is a garbage. I'd like to believe I have a lemon. The reality is, I have no idea. I've had to have Dell ship parts and send a technician six times, and all were with major repairs/replacement. Today was the most recent -- new monitor, trackpad, keyboard and motherboard!
