XPS 15 9500, Bluetooth not working
I have a problem where the Bluetooth doesn't work right on my dell xps 15. To the point where the Bluetooth icon disappears from the control panel.
As shown in the picture below.
The only solution I found that works is restarting the computer. But that's only temporary. The problem keeps coming back.

If the Bluetooth on your Dell XPS 15 9500 laptop is not working, you can try a series of troubleshooting steps to identify and potentially resolve the issue. Here's a step-by-step guide:
Check Bluetooth Hardware Switch: Ensure that the physical Bluetooth switch on your laptop is turned on. Some laptops have a dedicated switch or function key (e.g., F2 or Fn+F2) to toggle Bluetooth on and off.
Restart Your Laptop: Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve hardware and software conflicts. Restart your laptop and check if Bluetooth starts working again.
Update Bluetooth Drivers: a. Go to the Dell Support website (support.dell.com) and enter your laptop's service tag or model number to find the latest Bluetooth drivers for your XPS 15 9500. b. Download and install the latest Bluetooth drivers. c. Restart your laptop after the drivers are installed.
Check Device Manager: a. Right-click on the Start button and select "Device Manager." b. Expand the "Bluetooth" category. c. If you see any Bluetooth devices with a yellow triangle icon or an error message, it indicates a driver issue. Right-click on the problematic device and select "Update driver."
Enable Bluetooth Services: a. Press Win + R to open the Run dialog box. b. Type "services.msc" and press Enter. c. Locate the "Bluetooth Support Service" and "Bluetooth Audio Gateway Service." Ensure that both services are set to "Automatic" startup type and are running. d. If they are not running, right-click on each service and select "Start."
Run Windows Troubleshooter: a. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot. b. Under "Find and fix other problems," select "Bluetooth" and run the troubleshooter.
Check for Interference: Bluetooth signals can be affected by interference from other devices. Ensure that there are no other devices or wireless networks causing interference in your vicinity.
Reset Bluetooth Settings: a. Go to Settings > Devices > Bluetooth & other devices. b. Under "Bluetooth," click on "More Bluetooth options." c. In the Bluetooth Settings window, go to the "Options" tab and click "Reset Bluetooth." d. Confirm the reset.
Update Windows: Make sure your Windows operating system is up-to-date. Sometimes, Bluetooth issues are resolved through Windows updates.
Check for Physical Damage: Examine the physical condition of your laptop's Bluetooth hardware. If you suspect physical damage, it may require professional repair.
Contact Dell Support: If none of the above steps work, and your laptop is still under warranty, consider contacting Dell's customer support for further assistance. They may provide additional troubleshooting or arrange for a repair or replacement if necessary.
Remember to back up your important data before performing any major troubleshooting or software updates.

A simple net search shows posts from years back, and it is now 2024, a day prior to 2025, and it is still a problem with Dell's laptop. It shows that Dell doesn't listen to customer feedback or read the community questions; Dell's staff here should report it back to whoever has the power to make changes. Clearly, Dell needs to solve the Bluetooth issues and not rely on customers to solve them. I paid AUD3148 for my laptop, which I bought this October. I've been using Dell for >20 years, including Alienware PC, and I thought they were great. Sadly, it seems that quality went down fast, considering simple Bluetooth issues cannot be solved for years. Small stuff, yes, but enough not to buy Dell again.
