XPS 15 9500 not charging
XPS 15 9500, 4K Touch. 18 months old.
Recently (2 months or so) I noticed when I plugged the charger it didn't start charging. No matter the USB-C port, no matter how many times I tried. It kept discharging (the notice about "Not charging" appears). This is obviously with the official charger.
The laptop has lived 90% of its life fully plugged in as a Desktop. It's just occasionally that I take it away.
As I was guess it was sort of a "software issue", I did a test and it worked as workaround. When it happens again, and it does often, I shut down completely. Then I plug it in (where there's only electricals at work, and not software involved), and the plug-in action is what turns on the computer. When I plug it in, I see the LED switching on, and then it boots normally, and it's recognized without problem.
The problem only happens again once I disconnect the charger at some point, or it goes to sleep and turns back on, that might not be recognised again. As long as I don't disconnect, it doesn't happen.
Any ideas? Everything is updated, and this had not happened (or I didn't experience it) months ago.
Also, around the same time this started happening, I also noticed another issue. Unknown if it's related. While plugged in and charging, and playing or doing intensive tasks, I've seen the LED blink orange. The pattern is 1 white 4/5 orange I think (it's pretty fast so I'm unsure). I checked the system diagnostic lights and it says
Other patters do not match closely what I see. There´s no 4,1, or 1,4, so my guess it's 1,5. However, I couldn't find anywhere anything about this i-Fuse. And it's weird it only notices and does it from time to time, and specifically I noticed when gaming. Again, no idea if it's related.
Thanks.

Enter setup (f2 at powerup). Does the AC adapter report its power rating or does it show unknown?

There is a rather extensive list of posts where people have had the same issue, unfortauntely I wasn't able to write this in the main post but hopefully this will help you and future people.
I have/had the same problem. It appears that it is a driver issue that only showed after a certain windows update. Even after using DellAssist to update your drivers, the driver is NOT updated. I believe that it is the following driver that needs to be updated. Since I updated, I have not had the issue (hopefully this has fixed it 100%).
Version: 1.41.1193.0, A11
File Name: Intel-Thunderbolt-Controller-Driver_TBTC0_WIN_1.41.1193.0_A11.EXE
File size: 41.79 MB
From reading the other posts it appears one chap even went as far as reinstalling windows AND replacing the motherboard and still had the issue.

Not sure if this has fixed it. Just did a couple disconnections and it worked. We will see after a few days and after going to sleep, which is when it mostly triggered. I checked and I had that version of the driver already. However, I uninstalled it, and reinstalled it manually just to be sure. It shows exactly as it was before, but we'll see. Thank you.

Nope. It just happened again and not charging again. No update has happened that I know of. Any other ideas?
