XPS 15 (9510) I7-11800h, CPU problem

Hi. First of all, sorry for my bad english.

As soon as I got the notebook, 2 days ago, I installed HW Monitor to check the CPU temperature.

The average values in idle are good (30-40° Celsius), and even at full load they are good (max 75/80°), but there is a strange thing.

Especially core 1 (but they all have the same behavior) when I perform tasks that are not too heavy (open Chrome/rendering web page, for example), suddenly rises from 35/40/50° to 100° in a few tenths of a second and then goes down immediately. I can see it clearly both from the taskbar and in the HW Monitor logs. It is especially strange because, I repeat, if I run heavy tasks like a Benchmark, the CPU never goes beyond the constant 85-90 °.

Is it normal in your opinion? I always use "balanced mode" in terms of performance.

Can  we assume you are running Windows 11?  If so, is the monitoring software compatible?

Do the fans on your system spin up during this time?

Most people won't be able so say if this is normal because not that many watch temps. as you are.  New systems will have a break-in period where the processor and its cooling components have to acclimate to the the most efficient job of cooling.  So it may be a temporary glitch that will disappear in a few days.

If you are concerned, you can call Dell and let them know what you see.  Maybe they have seen this before but at least, you have made them aware of a possible situation.

Yes, I use Windows 11, I installed it as soon as I took it out of the box after updating all the Windows and Dell drivers.

The fans works well but do not start at that precise moment because the 100 ° lasts a fraction of a second. I repeat, the average temperatures are perfect, both in idle and under full load. The strange situation is this temperature peak of up to 100 ° that lasts a few tenths of a second.

I thought the CPU temperature sensor has some problem or is faulty, but I don't know.

I need another user who has the same notebook, the same processor and takes a test.

I use HW64 info, but it's the same also with Temp CPU.
