XPS 15 doesn't boot

Hello,

I have a XPS 15 9530, service tag . At boot time I can see the DELL logo, F2, F12 menu options but after that the screen turns black and windows won't start. Tried booting the official Win 10 done with MediaCreationTool from USB but the same thing. Tried running BIOS diagnostics, again screen turns black and it freezes.

So I'm guessing it's not only the HDD to blame, maybe the mainboard?

Tried both legacy booting and UEFI but pretty much the same results.

Laptop has built in battery so can't remove battery and the CTRL+ESC BIOS recovery sequence doesn't work either.

Any other ideas please?

Do you have an external monitor you could try?

Unplug the system, remove the base cover and disconnect the battery from the system board.  Hold the power button for 30 sec and remove and reinstall the memory modules.  Reconnect the battery.

Try powering up again.  That may get it going.

If not, disconnect the battery again and try on AC only - if the system will then power up, the battery is bad.

If it still won't power up, the mainboard is bad.
