XPS 7590 Auto-Adjust Brightness On (OLED Screen)
I'm using a XPS 7590 (Intel Core i7-9750H, 15.6”, 4K UHD OLED, 16GB, 1TB SSD, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 4GB). I've looked at how the brightness can be automatically adjusted - eg going from a dark room to a brightly lit one should automatically increase the display's brightness - but wasn't able to find anything:
- The manual doesn't state anything about this feature
- There doesn't appear to be any Ambient Light Sensor on this model
- Tried the HDR setting as described here, but didn't seem to make any difference
- Toggling the "Adaptive Brightness" in the Intel Graphics Command Center doesn't yield anything
Does this model support automatic brightness ?

For anyone else coming across this - the laptop does NOT contain a detector that would automatically allow it to adjust the brightness based on the amount of ambient light. This was confirmed by Support.
