XPS 9570 Thunderbolt Driver not available
Hi, the latest Intel Thunderbolt Controller Driver for my Dell XPS 15 9570 in the official Dell Support site says the following under the "Important Information" section: "This driver package supports only Windows 10, version 1909 (19H2) or earlier. It is not compatible with Windows 10, version 2004 (20H1) and later", and there is no newer driver avialable for download. My current Windows version is 21H1. Where can I find the Thunderbolt Driver compatible with the latest Windows version? Thanks

We tried reaching you on a private message asking for the Service Tag number to ascertain the warranty but did not receive a response. Please feel free to reply to the private message whenever you are available.

Stop the typical "we need your service tag" nonsense. This has nothing to do with warranty. Help the man. Maybe Dell would be not so hated that much, if they would do good customer service for once.
I can confirm this issue with my XPS 15 9570. Guess what? I dont have warranty anymore. So WHAT. Most users owning a 9570 wont anymore. This is a driver issue not a warranty issue.
You cant install the latest TB fw too anymore because it always stops saying:
The """latest""" version is installed though it is 17.4.79.510, A12 from 2019: https://www.dell.com/support/home/de-de/drivers/driversdetails?driverid=tbt79&oscode=wt64a&productcode=xps-15-9570-laptop
Obviously Dell forgot to update the TB drivers for the 9570. Fix this.

@alegator Same Driver is working fine for me for following models. All of these machines are running 21h1, plus I will be able to share more info on windows 11 compatibility as well after a few more testings
XPS 9560, XPS 9500 and XPS 9575
Are you facing any issues ?

Other Dell devices are also affected. I have a Dell Latitude 5290 2-in-1 and I have exactly the same problem.
I spent two days trying to fix this problem with the WD15 dock that my tablet can't see at all. Interestingly, it recognizes the TB16 station, but of course it does not work with this station.
I did an experiment and reinstalled Windows 10 version 1909 (19H2) - indicated by Dell as working with Intel Thunderbolt Controller Driver. After installing the system, I did a driver update via Dell's website and everything except the TB update was installed correctly:
Over the last two years I have bought dozens of Dell devices and generally I have had problems that could be solved quite simply. However, this is the second problem (the first was with the fingerprint reader) that I could not solve and unfortunately I do not see an attempt to solve this problem by Dell service.

Can confirm the same problem with my XPS 15 9560. After update to Windows 21H1 I cannot normally use my Thunderbolt dock (caldigit ts3 plus) any more.

Welcome back.
I'll start with a lost picture from my previous post first:
As for the Intel driver, I have found it before but I was worried if it would work. After the U2CAMEB4ME information, I decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, the effect is as I feared:
1. Clean install (after uninstalling the driver Dell)
2. As an update of a previously installed Dell driver.
During the update, the Intel driver detected the Dell driver, uninstalled it, but did not install itself.
Best regards.

Thanks for your update @jtuta
At least there is light at the end of the tunnel.
Maybe Dell will use the driver and modify it for their laptops??? "Like they should"
With that driver installed have you tried to do a Windows update???
Make sure to check "Optional Updates" as that is where most hardware updates are located.
Regards and good luck,

There was some progress made on my side. After uninstalling and removing DELL drivers and thunderbolt application followed by system reboot I have successfully installed driver suggested by U2CAMEB4ME and thunderbolt control center from Windows store.
Results are mixed - my setup is XPS 9560 and CalDigit TB3 plus :
- Charging works every time.
- USB: Sometimes (many tries, reboots, pluging in and out TB cable) I manage to see device as connected and get etherenet and other usb devices from the dock to work. Majority of the tries (like 9 out of 10) thunderbold controller is invisible and nothing works.
- Displays: Out of many (30 or so) attempts I have seen once the 2 displays I have got connected to the dock to show image briefly for a few seconds, but then they disconnected and went back to being black.
Therefore, currently: charging works, usb 10% of the time, display doesn’t work.

Hey,
I tried also updating as you suggested, no luck. Tried many other things let me describe current state:
- harwarewise dock works - tested with Dell Inspiron 7950, where usb and displays over thunderbolt work as expected, therefore it is 100% problem with XPS 9560
- on xps 9560 there is the same result on windows and ubuntu (after some time usbðerenet connects, but monitors are not detected - this seems to be the case regardless if I am on intel's drivers or Dell's)
This would, by my knowledge, point to firmware issue and not driver issue as driver issue would probably cause only problems on windows?
Therefore I tried to downgrade firmware via many methods - from running older firmware installer with "*.exe /f" to even creating custom .cab file under ubuntu (base tutorial) and installing it via fwupdmngr. But firmware stays on 26.01, and it seems I cannot downgrade it.
Although running "*.exe /f" and "fwupdmngr install .cab" do not report errors after flashing, current version stays at 26.01.
And for future reference some additional information on Event viewer of the Windows:
- while on dell's drivers (see image bellow for the version info) there seems to be repeatedly events "Information", source: "nhi", Event "1", with description: "
- while on intel drivers (see image bellow for the version info) there seems to be repeatedly 5 error events: containg data:
Best regards,
jt
Edit, also for future reference output of fwupd (since then I have also upgraded dock's (TS3 Plus) firmware to the latest version):

I have similar problems with my XPS 15 9570, I cannot access any of the USB or the Ethernet ports through any of my two docking stations (Dell and Belkin). But I can use my displays through both of them.
The Thunderbolt Software (17.4.79.510) crashes with .Net exception when I try to start it.The Realtek network adapter fails to install. The updating of drivers to the Dell docking station fails.
Best regards

Welcome back.
I found a modification of the driver installation method presented by U2CAMEB4ME on the INTEL newsgroup (as you can see, similar problems are also with INTEL NUC):
https://www.intel.pl/content/www/pl/pl/support/articles/000033223/intel-nuc.html
Generally, it consists in fully uninstalling the TB drivers and applications (DELL and / or INTEL) and then installing only the drivers from the .inf files and the Thunderbolt Control Center application from the Windows Store.
Unfortunately, this method did not work on my Dell Latitude 5290 2-in-1 - I still couldn't update the firmware to TB, moreover, the firmware updater did not detect TB drivers that theoretically installed.
I decided to do another experiment - I bought from our friends behind the Great Wall, the stupidest, simple USB-C docking station for about $ 25, which has the ports I need:
Input: TYPE-C
Outputs: USB3.0 + USB3.0 + SD + TF + Gigabit LAN + VGA + HDMI + power socket (USB-C).
I connected the dock to my Latitude 5290 2-in-1 and everything worked fine without installing any additional drivers !!!
It even works to power the computer through the dock connected to the DELL power supply. The only problem is there is no QC type power supply, so I will continue to look for a solution to my original DELL dock.
Regards.

The docking stations work for my colleague with the same type of computer. But after days of testing different options of updating the drivers, I tested a new docking station, Dell WD19S, and it worked out of the box! I still cant run the Thunderbolt software, but the network and USB ports work.
