XPS 9570 webcam not found
I have essentially the problem described here:

In short, I have a newish i9 XPS 15 9570 with a nonworking webcam. It's not in the Device Manager and applications can't find it. My bios is up to date. Reinstalling the chipset and bios seems kind of epic and an uncertain solution.
Is there some other alternative here?

Customer support PM'ed me with the solution: the webcam can be (and was) disabled in the BIOS. Easy fix. Thanks!

Getting impatient, I checked my bios - it's already the latest 1.15. I checked the chipset. Dell Update doesn't detect anything needed, but SupportAssist online wanted to upgrade it. I ran the upgrade 3 times. It just doesn't work - after installing & rebooting, it's still detected as needing an upgrade.

This did not fix my problem. I have done a complete factory reset and the camera is still missing from the device manager and cannot be found. I have completed every step to try and solve this issue. the camera is enabled in the BIOS and it is up to date, but still not showing in device manager or detected.

The manual (around pg. 62) says, "NOTE: The display assembly cannot be further disassembled. If the display bezel, display panel, camera module, display
cable and touch-screen cable (optional) are defective and need to be replaced, replace the entire display assembly." The diagrams show only 2 cables - the display cable, and an optional touchscreen connector.
I would interpret this as meaning there's no separate webcam connection to check? It's pretty easy to pop the back off, and it looks like you don't have to pull the battery to simply check that the display cable is securely attached, so that's probably worth doing. But it seems like a real long shot for the display to work, and the camera not.
Wow, the antispam and anti-html measures are a pain now!

If the cam is enabled but doesn't show up, next step is to make sure it's connected to the system board, which will require disassembling the system. Service manual for the XPS 9570 is here

I have the same exact issue: webcam enabled in BIOS but not detected.
It magically solved a few months ago when I had to reset the BIOS unplugging the battery. It worked for a while then it stopped working again. I can't say if it stopped working after a BIOS update or W11 upgrade.
Just sharing my experience for future reference.

Solved again. This time I disconnected both battery and display connector.
The webcam works again. Until next time.
