XPS not charging anymore

Hello,

if I plug my Dell power adapter to one of the 3 usb-c ports, I get an error message:"PC isn't charging. Use the recommended charger and cable, and make sure it's directly plugged in."

I already opened a ticket, the issue didn't repeat for few days after updating the BIOS, but uius now back. Hardware diagnostics report no problems. Windows, BIOS and drivers all updated.

Could you please help?

More than likely the main logic board will need to be replaced. Suggest opening a service ticket with Dell to initiate its replacement.

Did you try using an electrical outlet to charge instead of usb-c? That's what "directly plugged in" means

How old is your battery? Always post your model computer when asking a question.

Thanks for your reply. It is directly plugged in, from an electrical outlet.

The model is an XPS 15 9500.

Thank you for your quick reply. The technician came to replace the motherboard. The roughest handling of a laptop I have ever seen. He also replaced the hard drive, who didn't come as agreed with windows pre-installed. So I know have to do it and will report whether it works out not.

Thanks all for your kind help.

I have the same problem. When I plug in any charger, a message appears and the laptop does not charge. Additionally, after waking up Windows 10, the desktop appears for a second and the computer resets. I  had the motherboard replaced twice, the screen twice, and the touchpad twice. The warranty has expired, and I still have many problems with my laptop. I'm very angry that I spent so much money and do not have a working laptop.

Same with me too... Xps 9500..

Sounds like they didn't build this expensive laptop to last.
