We tried reaching you on a private message asking for the Service Tag number to ascertain the warranty but did not receive a response. Please feel free to reply to the private message whenever you are available.

I'm glad I found this thread here.
I have an XPS 15 7590 with a UHD (4k) IPS touchscreen display and just a few days ago I have discovered the EXACT SAME issue with those weird wave lines appearing at the bottom of the screen.
They are always there, no matter if the screen shows all black, all white, or any color. Changing the screen brightness also has no effect - the waves are always there.
I'm attaching 2 photos of the screen where you can see the waves. One on this very exact page here, and one on an all-white screen.
Did you find out what was the cause for this?
And how did you get it fixed?
More than $2,500 for a high-performance laptop and then this...

Run a screen diagnostic -- hold the D key through powerup. Does the fault show on the test screens?

Thanks, I've just run the test. The wave pattern is always visible on all test screens.

Anyone got any news on what this could be? It's been 7 months now and all those wave patterns in the display seem to VERY slowly propagate upwards. A few of those "wave arms" now reach up to the middle of the screen.
As mentioned earlier, this wave pattern is always there, no matter the brightness, no matter the color, no matter if in BIOS, diagnostic screens - it's there always and everywhere.
It's clear that it's a hardware issue with the display. Something that is very slowly progressing up to maybe total failure of the screen?! Who knows. But nobody seems to have an answer, and the most useless have been Dell Support where I called...
Again, Dell, this is a $2,500 laptop!!! Stuff like this must not happen!!

Whatever is causing it, the screen needs to be replaced. If your system is under warranty, call Dell; if not, see below for one source of replacement parts.

I was using my laptop when the screen froze and then moments later a wave of black started going down it. I tried restarting it but the screen has stayed black.
