I recently inherited the mother of all laptops, a 2014 Alienware 17 R1.

I plan on doing a restomod and have begun the task of finding parts and information. Everything I have found so far says this machine can handle up to 32 GB of memory. When I install the memory, BIOS sees it, post diagnosis reads it and finds all four sticks of 8 GB 1600 DDR3. The issue begins when I go into the main system. Windows itself is only seeing 16 GB and that's only if it decides to start windows, sometimes it does sometimes it doesn't. I would appreciate any help in getting this machine up to 32 GB.
